Just before the Covid-19 chaos started for real here i Sweden, we threw a big party including a sustainable runway show. No one knew at that time that this was going to be the last event they were going to attend i quite a while. Our moving in party turned out to be the last party until further notice. But it was a great one! I am happy we decided to go through with the event. If we had planned the event for only 2 days later we probably decided to cancel it. But fortunately we made it just in time before the reality caught up.
Sustainable runway
I want to share with you the colorful and optimistic moments of joy represented in the fashion show. Almost 3 weeks later it’s hard to imagine that we were so untroubled and cheerful. But thats why I think it’s a good idea to post the pictures now. We could use a bit of untroubled joy I imagine.
This sustainable runway show is a a results of a collaboration between The WOW Closet, with their glamorous party dresses and Studio Heijne, with our stylish and luxurious party wear. Because party, that was the theme that brought our concepts together. The whole fashion show was ment to breath serious party. From office party amazon, to sex in the city stylish , and wedding glamour to the max, all styles are carefully put together by our 2 stylist Tove Fogelberg and Sophie Tillquist. See here the results photographed by Jessica Hanlon photography.
All styles are for rent or sale at The WOW-Closet and Studio Heijne. The scarves are Heijne design and all sunglasses are from Shadeshares, available in our web shop.
Why we love this collaboration
All the collaborating brands and persons working with this fashion show have one thing in common. This one thing is an important pilar of our business concepts. The common thing is that we all are passionate about building and working with sustainable fashion brands. Our stylist Sophie and Tove are helping private customers to reorganize there wardrobes and rethink their styling with clothes they already have. Shopping in your own wardrobe, is what they name it. Wonderfull we think, because the most sustainable garments are garments being used.
Shadeshares deserves a own separate story. And I will write an article dedicated to this cool brand soon. They provide sustainably produced sunglasses made of wood. Beautiful and very comfortable, because of the light weight, shades.
And last but not least: The WOW Closet. They offer a complete party wardrobe for galas, weddings and other more formal parties. You can wear their dresses for the occasion and then return them again. We love their rental concept, because why purchasing a garment if you know you ar only going to wear it once? It’s a great and much more sustainable decision to rent instead. Because once again, the most sustainable garments are garments which are being used many times.
