But why are we comparing them with disposable panties? Sit down, relax and read to increase your understanding.

Government recommendations

In most countries wearing a face mask in public spaces is obligatory. Now Sweden also updated their guidelines and recommends to wear face masks in public transport regardless of time and indoor as in stores and at workplaces.

Dispose or reuse?

Disposable surgical face mask

The most common face mask in Sweden. You have probably all seen this unflattering , but effective blue mask. Disposable face mask are made of paperish material (non-woven) and should be discarded immediately after use.

When wearing this mask, you protect others from your gems and splashes. That’s why they work the best if everyone one uses them.

Washable face mask

Face masks made of fabric have the same feature of protecting others while wearing them. But in contrary of the medical mask, you can wash and re-use them. Fabric face mask are recommended by WHO for people under 60 years without underlying diseases.

Would you wear disposable panties?

At Studio Heijne, we think it’s important to rethink our habits now face masks are used on a daily basis. For a sustainable life style we have to reduce the use of disposable products and replace them with washable ones. Or otherwise the new problem may be that disposable face masks will litter our streets.

Do you WASH your panties?

Disposable panties have many similarities with disposable face masks. They are both effektive and unattractive. The advantage with disposable panties is that you don’t need to wash them. You DO need to wash fabric panties after every use and that’s a disadvantage, but we do it anyway without thinking. So why not apply this on face mask too? Let’s make it a routine to wash them as we do with panties to reduce the amount of disposable products as a part of sustainable living.
